So far the second Main Trunk line express trains between Wellington and Auckland have been poorly patronised. The two trains which arrived at Wellington on Tuesday and Wednesday morning could not have carried more than eighty passengers altogether, but there are not a great numbor of people travelling at present between the .two big■, centres. It..- is, of course, expected, however, that there will be a big rush when the holiday, excursions begin on December 17. At Polhill Gully yesterday afternoon,' the Dominion 'Scouts fired'a;soven-shot match at 200 and 500 yards for a trophy presbnted by Lieutenant Mahoney.
