The working expenses., amounted to' ; £2272, or £100 more than last year. The prin- , cipal increases in expenditure are;— Repairs to I station plant, £32; maintenance.of 6treetlighting (charged last year direct to district fund), £62. Comparing the totals to. date, it is-seen that tho gross revenue now amounts to £30,607,: an increase of £302; as compared with the cor-, responding'period of last year. The working expenses this year total £15,850, or £754 more than last year. Tho principal increases in the eight months' expenditure' are:—Fuel; £632; ■ maintenance of street lighting (charged last l . year direct to district fund), £349.' Many of '] the othor items of expenditure show a decrease ■ ■ as compared w;th last year.; After providing for proportion of interest, sinking fund, and depreciation charges, the net result to-date ! is a credit balance of £4601,; as compared with- ' £64-40 vast year.! The sale of public curront shows an increase of £410 4s, 2d.,.but.private ' current fell off by £252 115..8 d., and power decreased by £60 3s. 9d.
