THE IRON ROAD IN AUSTRALIA AND CANADA. (By Telegraph.—Press 'Association.—CopjrighU London; November IG. Sir Charles Lucas, Under-Secrotary for tho Colonies, who, with Mr. Pearson, lately toured the oversea dominions on a special mission, speaking at the Working Men's College, declared that Australia had a groat futuro before it. Its growth would be immensely promoted by a railway between West and, South Australia. The Canadian Pacific railroad, said Sir Charles, had made a people. It illustrated the immonse importance of railways. Science had done moTO than laws to proreoto democracies.
