LAWN TENNIS.
NEW ZE&LAND COUNCIL. At a meeting of tho council of/ tho New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association,. held last evening, there were present: Mr. J.;C. Peacock (in thaichair), Professor Hunter, Messrs.'. R.. Swansfen, G..A. iHurlea', A. Young, F. B. Salmond, and G. N. .Goidie (secretary). The Taranaki Lawn Temus Association forwarded tho nomination of Miss Powdrcll for the New Zealand v. Now South Wales contest at Auckland at the end of ti|j} year. The New Zealand team has not yet. been selected. The Wellington Provincial Laws Tennis Association notified the affiliation of tho Martinborough Club.. • Official programmes for the tennis tournaments at Marton (January-a and 22), Pahiatua (January 1 and 3), Ashburton (December 25, 27, and 28), and New-Plymouth (January l and 3) .were submitted and approved! The council then went into .'committee to consider matters in connection with the : visit of the New Zealand delegate (Professor Hunter) to the New South Wales conference, and,e3pe'ciaßy with regard to the Dairis Cnp controversy.
