PRIMITIVE METHODIST SYNOD.
(By Telegraph-Special Correspondent.! Fettdtng, November 11. Tho Primitive Methodiet Synod, which is now in tension at Halcombe, elected tho following officers —Chairman, Eov. W. S Potter, vice-chairman, Mi J C Thompson, of Foilding, tecretarj. Re>. C. A Sims, assistant scocetarj, Mr M. H Walker, lettoi-writer, Mr. G. Pethenck. The retiring ohainnon (Kev. J. Cloror, of redding), u his address dealing with matters pertaining to the work in the district during the j ear, stated that the reports showed increases m most cases Tho membership for the district was 650-Min increase of 22 j scholars numbered 1243, an increase of 88, teachers, 181; Sunday School income, J334 15s Id. . 1 The application of the Rev. C E Ward for superannuation after forty years of activo service was sustained, many of the delegates speaking appreciatively of the long and arduous service rendered by Mr. Waro Greetings were sent to tho Otqgo Synod, now in session at Waikouaiti. At tho public meeting Mr. M. Eew, the chairman of the Town Board, and the Bev. Edward Walker gave addresses of welcome. Speeches wore also fiven by the Revs. C E. Ward (son of the pioneer missionary to No* Zealand), P. J. Cossam, and C. A. Sims.
