MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
.The. Missions to Seamen.'lnstitute was crowded to the doors last evening, when Mrs.' Burke provided a delightful concert. Mr. J. Moore, the misskmer,: occupied tho chair. The following contributed items to the programme: Pianoforte eolo, Mrs. Burke; song, Miss Page; .recitation, Mr..Baker; song, Mr. Johnson;duet, : Mrs.' 'and .Miss Page; recitation,■' Master Shawney; song, Mrs'. .Burke. : Every item 1 was I,encored.•■.•Mrs. Burke and Mrs.; Page playod the.; accompaniments. Soveral very popular choruses : were snng by tho audience' in good style, and an, amusing conundrum, competition was won by sailors from'ships in port. During a.short: interval, the raissioner delivered an earnest temperance address, taking the words: "Could Tou?"-for a subject.; Eight men subsequently took tho .pledge. The performers were, accorded.a hearty vote of thanks at the conclusion of the evening's proceedings, and light 'refreshments were dispensed.
