The Thomdon Dinghy Sailing Club held a race on Saturday for tho Oates Challenge Cup A light northerly:wind was blowing, and four boats faced the starter, : viz.-Zel (soratoh), Blowfly (Grain.), Vera (Bmin.),.. and - Bona (15min.)> On rounding Point Jcrningbftm buoy, Rona, Vera, and . Blowfly stood out into tho harbour, but Zel kept in to tho western shoro, and got Kime yilonblo "legs-np. Tho order round Kaiwarra buoy was Vera, Bonn, Zel. and Blowfly. On the run home, Zel overhauled ftoira, bnt could m&ko no impression on tho lead held by Vera," tho .boats arriving ~at tho finishing lino'in tho following order:-Vera, 'ih 38min.-ssec.; Zel, Ih. 40min. 30sec.; Hona,, 4h. 42min.; -and-Blowfly, 4h..42rain._ 2Csco.;. A, race isill be sailed next Saturday for a trophy ptesented by Mr. A. T. Scott. .. >
