THE LAST RESORT.
Sir,—l crave your indulgence, sir, to ask if you or any of the readers of your valuable paper, can inform me if a duly naturalised subject of the King has the Tight to appear before the Bar of the House and ask for redress. I have exhausted my legal" remedies, and there seems no other course open' to mo. I may state, sir, that I have been a petitioner to the. House, and tho subject matter of my petition was, in the usual course, referred to a committee of the House, and the said committee reported unanimously that I should bo placed in a position to obtain the redress I sought. I may add the House formally and without division adopted the report of the committee. I have been informed that in' Great Britain any subject of the King can claim the right to appear before the Bar of the House to state his grievance, and to claim redress. I wish, to ascertain, sir— (a) Whether this privilege, if it exists, can be claimed and exercised by one' in my position in this Dominion. (b) What are the necessary preliminary steps that I must tako before appearing at tho Bar. of the House, > _ ■ ■■ Thanking you in anticipation.—l am, etc., ENQUIRER. Our correspondent can be heard at tho Bar of the House, provided lie /» (1) Petitions the House.
