(From Our Special Correspondent.) Auckland, October 20. * At an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders in the May Queen Gold Mining Company, held this afternoon, tho Don .T. chelson presiding, tho resolution parsed at an extraordinary meetine held last month relative to the purchase of tho Moanataieri and May Queen 'East claims by two companies, to, be formed for the purpose, were confirmed. Deferring' to the break-down of the Thames-Hau-raki pump, the chairman said it was a very unfortunate occurrence at' this juncture, involving delay and: expense to the company. This was the third time this had occurred. He asked the shareholders, however,. not to be discouraged. Every effort would- be made to minimise the delay, as far..as possible. He hoped they would be in full .working order again in two weeks.' At a, subsequent meeting of the Thames Drainage Board Committee, when the manager of the Thames-Hauraki pump was present, a committee was set up to take atcpo to have repairs effected and get the pump working again as soon as possible. The manager stated r that it would probably.be three weeks before, tho. shaft c&Uld bfe fully unwatered. ,In tho meantime the water would be. kept down to the 650 feet level. Ti necessary, the engineer of the Waihi Company will be consulted with, the view of .obviating further trouble of the kind.
