Lijat-weifhts (first heat):-O'Halloran (Waikino) beat Walker (Poneonbyh il'Noill (Coromandel) bent Griffen (Wednesday Union). S«mi-fin»l: Broroitch (Ohinemuri) beat O'Halloran (Waikiao). Midd'.e-wtights: M'Lennan (Whakatane) beat Olsen (Newton); Sheehan (i 1.8.0.8.) beat Patriok (North Shore) on a foul. . ' Heavy-weight*: Daweon (Hawke's Bay) beat Savoury (Poneonby) on a foal. '.'■"'' The star item of the evening then took plae! #i this being the • residential light-w.olght championship of New Zealand for a parse of .£SO, fifteen thre«-minntcs' rounds, between "TimV Iraoy (Wellington), and "Alf" Ganlt (Auckland). Tho first round was an even,affair, but in the second round Gault'got home time after time, and it wasvGaulte ronnrf easily. Tho third and fourth rounds saw hard boxing, mostly in favour:of Gault. The next four rounds- furnished little, to- choose between the men,. but in , the eighth,-.round. Gault troubled ■: Tracy ■, considerably with' his ■■ right swings, which nearly ; always got home, 'and this and the following round were ■decidedly in Gault's favour. -..Prom now.on, howover, ; .-it' was evident that Gault had exhausted himself, and the last seven rounds iTcre all in Tracy's favour.
