The hospital will be under the management *'of tho Southland Hospital Board. ' CONTROL OF ATHLETIC SPORTS. , Christchurch, October 13. A conference, between representatives of 'the Now Zealand Athletio Union and tho League •'of New- Zealand Wheelmen was held ' this evening, at which a reciprocal arrangement regarding the control of sports' meetings was decided upon. Details will be discussed at & meeting to-morrow. Subsequently the executive of -the Athletic Union met and'decided to relinquish the control of piping and dancing events, and affiliated centres Will bo asked to endorse this action forthwith.; It ; is hoped that this action' will result in more satisfactory relations being established between tho. Caledonian Societies and the union. The ah- 1 nual meeting and championships of the union will be held at Greyinouth in March next. ...
