~;:;, .LATEST DEVELOPMENTS.' .^ri.'K'Short,', who has been in communication .with the secretary of the Argentine Show, lias ■not received, much-.encouragement from that source,, and it looks vory much as if exhibitors from _this Dominion, are not. much wanted. asked,for information on-various matters/;in',connoctipn with' getting stock to the show, -but tho replies received are' extremely meagre,, and not by. any.-means' satisfactory.- It, turns out'that the cost of sending sheep ;to, the Buenos . Ayres Show. will be very heavy, and it is probable .that' Mr.' Short, and Mr. VV. Perry, of .Mastorto'n, will'be the inly breeders• .to dispatch:.same. Mr... Short pro •poses to 'send-. 17 'Eqmney rams' and ewes, while Mr.; Perry,-will, send ...eight -Lincolns.. Single sheep .are not provided; for in the .schedule, all having, to be shown' in.n'ens.of three,, which .is. most'unsatisfactory.'Mr. Short has also ■received a-r'eply from the "Minister for Agrix'ulture to the'effect that'the Government can-notsee-its' way. to contributing :ta the cost:of sending sheep to. the.show, -but that they will provide:necessary crates. Mr. Short, however points out. that he has been a very large importer of. sheep, and has. always left the crates in. which the sheep came in from/England on homes'lsland,. the quarantine.station, and that he will practically only be getting back his own.
