Moderate to strong southerly winds have prevailed north of New Plymouth and-Napier, and strong and squally westerlies elsewhere. The barometer has risen steadily in tho north, but only slowly in the south. Tho weather has been unsettled on the West Const of tho' South Island and in the extreme south, but fair mostly elsewhere. Tho present indications are for freshening northerly winds soon over tho North Island, and Blrong wOßtcrllcs elsewhere, with a falling barometer shortly everywhere.
