TARANAKI SEREET METHODIST CHURCH.
The/quarterly meeting of '• the' officials and managers of; tho Taranaki Street. 'Methodist Church was held on Tuesday evening,'when the accounts 1 and reports of the vinous departmente of church work were reviewed.-'There ■was a representative attendance .present, under th'j chairmanship of the, Rev. S. J., Serpell. The stewards were able to report a. credit balance on' the working of the'. past quarter. The record of work accomplished, bv the deaconesses of the-Tory and Aro. Streets Missions was of a most encouraging. nature, and .. received the, warm approbation'of the meeting.'. _ Satisfaction was also expressed at the completion and suc-ccs-sful opening of a new ■ church. at Brooklyn. Reports of the Sabbath Schools-and'Endeavour Societies' were also of an encouraging nature. Bv' a hearty and unanimous-vote, the Revs.' S -'J. Serpell and J. R. -Clark - were invited to labour in the circuit for another year. This wa'" cordially accepted by the rev. gentlemen, and testimony was borne .to their faithfulness and devotion to duty. Messrs. G. Williams and W. H. Bennett were appointed-circuit representatives to, the District Synod to be held at Levin next month. : /
