' ■ ,~, . .- It was Resolved', fo apply to'the City Council for permission to form a volunteer fire brigade for the ■ district.. , Messrs.' Liardet, Ward Highett, Farrely, Chilman, Hurdv, Bridge, Leslio, Kuch were appointed to waft on the .City Council,: and-a committee, consisting of. Messrs. H. <B. Bjidge, Lamder,-Highett, and the pw. sident and 1 secretary (Mr.. T. Vf. Ward), were Appointed to go further into the matter. A site at tho junction of -thfe Crescent and' Graftin Road;, was , unanimously, agreed, to be the rtwat. suitable- : for :i .fire -station,.,and it was debided to try to get a'small building erected there, And :a.r«l of hose and. i'bell installed, ■ Mr. H. B. Briclcro moved' the following series of.motions,-, relatingto .traniway. matters!— That the shelter-shed at Cdurtenay, Place be greatly that tho. stopping-place, for cars, oil the way to town at tho City Hotel be abolished; that the tenminutes'; service;round' the Bay be: liot arbitrarily, interrupted;, that concession tickets.? enabling residents to ride from the.Bay.to Kelburno Avenue for ljd. be grahtelj' as .on.other suburban lines; that .-the cats run at; certain busy hours bo doubledeokisrs instead of small cars. Those motions wore nil carried, and a deputation was appointed to lay them before the TtamwaJ's Committee of tho City Council, . • " ; Requests for improvements-in lighting and drniiiage were also adopted for presentation to the City Council.';
