WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION,', Tho weekly meeting of tho Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union ; was hold last evening, wheii there were present: Messrs; S. Brown (chairman), .E. O. Hales, W. Hardham, W. Perry, J. Burns, P. Peters, and J. O'Sullivau. It was decided to make a donation of ,£G,to the Wellington Public Schools' .Union towards the entertainment expenses of the Manawntu School team on its visit to Wellington. ; Messrs. Brown arid Perry wero appointed to wait upon tho trustees of the Athletic Park -and ascertain what thoir intentions were iu regard to tho : draiuugo of the park. Several members of the. committee thought that it was übsolutely necessary that something should be douo in'this riinttor. ■ After next Saturday,, providing r that, tho Charity match is not postponed, the Athletic Park will bo closed to footballers for tho season. Permission to use the park on September 20 for a match -.between representatives of the grocers and butchers'was refused. j! The . third annual football match ,between a ; team representing, tho Customs.and Mariuc Department, and a team representing the Customs Agents iu tho city,will be played ou Saturday next, and, in tho evening,, there.will be a. smoke concert in the. Foresters' Hall. The following team will represent the Customs and Marino Department-.—-Warring (fullback), H.D.
