• ; ; FEILDING. •-i • The Feilding Cricket Club has elected tlie following officers:—-Patron, Mr. P. T. .Lefchbridge; president, Mr. G. Bartholomew; T'co- - Messrs. J. G. Cobbe,~J. W. Bramwell,,l3. J. Manning, P., D. Clayton, D. M. Montgomery, C. H. Burnett, 11. M'lntyro, and Dr. Willis; secretary and treasurer, Mr. K. Bartholomew; general committee, Messrs. W. H. M'l.ean, R. Cobbe, J. Power,. W. Shirley, with the officers ex officio. It is probable that the club will run a Wednesday team during the coming season.. / ;■.' , The following are the officers for the'Halcombe Cricket Club for the coming season:—President, Mr. 0. C. Pleasants; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Henppy, H. J. Bailey, J. M/Lennan, J. Mamigh, J. Fraser, J. Jordas, and 0. M'Elroy; captain, Mr. A. Purkiss; vice-captain, Mr. L. Pleasants; secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. Henderson; selection committee, captain, vice-captain, Messrs. M. Kew, D.-. M'Laughland, and the secretary. It was decided at the meeting to again join the Feilding District Association. Messrs. L. Pleasants' and L. Burcham were elected delegates to the Cricket Association. Eumour has it that-the Marton Cricket Club intends entering for the I'eilding and District Cricket Association's' contests. This should be good for the game. ■'■■.'■•■' Mr. AV. Red, of. Kimbolton, has been entertained at a complimentary "social" and made the recipient of a presentation from friends, to suitably mark the occasion of hia departure from the district. Mr. Red was one of the first settlers hens, and, has now disposed of his properties to take ■up land in. Taranaki. ' , On Monday evening members of the Primitive Methodist Church of Feilding gave a farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Heald, who,, after many years' residence here, are about to take ,up their residence in Wellington. During the evening, the i Rev. P. J. Cossum (on behalf of the church) presented Mr. , and Mrs. Heald with a handsomo little silver-mounted oak salad bowl, and expressed the hearty good wishes • and esteem.in which Mr. and Mrs. Heald and family are held by members of the Primitive Methodist Church. ■ ■ ' - ■'■.'■■•
