Tho same result followed several repeti tions of tho experiment, and, in addition, Mi Collins _ has discovered that tho gas in th water-pipes at Ilia own house is similarly in flammable. Ho has arranged to obtain a quan tity of gas for testing for Dr. Evans, Frofesso of Chemistry at Canterbury College. Dr. Chilton, Professor of Biology, on bein questioned said that ho had not heard of in flammable gas emanating from any nrtcsiai bores in New Zealand, but the circumstanc was by no means uncommon in other parts o the world, and several f.itics were lighted fron natural supplies obtained in this way. .
