BRITAIN IN EGYPT. ] CONCRESS IN SWITZERLAND. . LABOUR AND NATIONALIST SUPPORT. (By l'cUjrapii.—Fross Association.—Copjrlght.l Coneva, September 15. ■ A hundred and twenty delegates, together, with Mr. Koir Hardio (Merthyr Tydvil) and Mr. G. N., Barnes (Blackfriars, Glasgow), British Labonr members) attended a "Young Egypt" Congress at Geneva. MaMmed Bet Farid, chief of the Egyptian National Party, : declared that they would never ask Britain for a Constitution, but from the Khedive they would soon "obtain .it.' Hamid Alaidy- read a paper in English,, declaring that it not England's business to put,down.the National party in Egypt, any more than in Mexico or Poland. Telegrams- and dispatches were ordered to be sent, reminding members of the House of Commons of Britain's reiterated promise to evacuate .Egypt; also to Hilmi Pasha, Grand Vizier; of Turkey, begging him to use his influence with Britain to secure withdrawal of the British troops. . Mr. T. M. Kettle, Nationalist member for East Tyrone, assured the .congress of. Ireland's sympathy with the Egyptians in their struggle, and added: "We have outstayed our welcome in Egypt." . r . Mr. Keir Hardie promised to defend Egypt's cause in the House of Commons. THE DEMANDS. ■ (Bee. September 16, 10.45 p.m.) ;. - London, September 16. Mr. Keir Hardie presided at the final meeting of the Geneva Congress, which Te--1 solved to demand .the evacuation of Egypt, representative government, liberty of the press, and free schools.
