The Auckwho showed the'■ better combination, had'the best of- the play ,in the first spell, having the wind behind'theni, and,'at tho call of ■ quarter), had-scored 29 points' to 8. ■ At the'end of the second quarter, they had 37 points to ,11' in .their favour.. The home team, subsequently had the better, of the play, but they could not quite make uj> their arrears, and ; were eventually beaten by 7 goals and 8 behiiids (50 points);to 5 goals, and 17 behinds (47 points): The visitors' were bolter than the locaVteam in the fine points of the game, especially'in their accuracy in centring the ball, but, oil the whole, both sides performed creditably.
