A LONG-STANDING TROUBLE. AND A REMEDIAL SCHEME. Many weary months have elapsed sinco tho committee controlling tho affairs of tho Hutt Park found itself in difficulties, and in order to sottlo the troubles, once and for ever a valuablo suggestion his been made. Briefly, it is that an area of about four and a half acres' of tho park, fronting Bacccourse Road, should bo rnado availablo to tho public. The number, of .building sections included. in tho allotment would bo 00, with a frontage of 10ft. each. Taken at' the. extremely low ostimato of .£SO per ■ section, £3300 would be realised. - This sum, would'not only liquidate a small debt owing to'a well-known legal firm, hut would nlso supply tha comniittco with ample funds for proceeding with some definite improvements' '011.tlio park, and making it a popular resort, which it is not at present. It is .contended that the area', which it is suggested should.be ■disposed of, is only ii acres out o'f a total of -about; 1)0 acres ; vested in tho Hutt, I'etone, and 'Eastbourne : Borough Councils, and would therefore, nover bo missed. It is understood that the matter will bo brought up at 'this week's meeting of tbe committee. . ' PETONE ROWING CLUB. Tho Petone Rowing Club is making active preparations for the coming season.
