PAHIATUA'S EXPERIMENTS.
! A piece of land adjoining the Pahiattta District, High School is being prepared for the culture of grass and mangolds, for the
instruction of the pupils. The work of sowing, etc., is to bo done under tho supervision of Mr. Thomas, headmaster. Mr. 6. Early has given the school'committee permission to use tho paddock fronting his residenco for tho purposo of experimenting with artificial manures. It haß been suggested that the Pahiatua-Akitio Agricultural and Pastoral . Association might co-operate with the school committee in theso experiments','and that somo of tho adjoining land might also be secured for tho same purposo. Theso sections are near the saloyards, and farmers would thus be enabled to. see tho results of tho experiments without inconvenience. Portions of theso sections (tho "Pahiatua Herald" suggests) could bo devoted to experiments with different manures, and tho sheep kept apart, so that opinions could bo formed from'tho condition of tho sheep as to the relativo merits of the artificial manures suitable .for trial in the district. Ttaro is a probability of the artificial manures being supplied gratuitously. •
