In the annual report of tho 'Petone Riflo Club,, tho j.committeo congratulates tho members. , upon-, a very succossf ul, season , both from point *of finance, membership, and marksmanship; and thoy confidently look: forward to;an even more successful season in tho coming yoari--Th6 club'bis an activo membership of'6B and nn honorary membership of 41, which'constitutes, the largest rifle club in'tho Dominion. ..The'past .season was a particularly busy one. The championship matches wero made as'trying-and difficult; as possible, 'and it speaks volumes for the marltsmanship of tho winner (Mr. J. Carter) and the runner-up (Mr. C.; ,W. Mellor). Tho matches in the championship were threo ! shots at 200, COO, and 600 yards, three, at 600 arid 600, three'at 600 and 800, and three/at 900 and 1000.
