Otherwise ths announcements cannot be nublishedj "At *Homo" In Mulgravo Street. , A very •.largely-attended "at home" was given yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Wylio at Her home in • Mulgravo • Street,. and quite a feature "of tho tea was tho lavish floral decoration of the pretty rooms. Tea was served ■in the dining-room, where tho table ' was charmingly decorated with yellow narcissi in tall vases, between-which wero placed little bowls filled with yellow cowslips. the mantelpieco was massed' .with' rose-coloured azaleas. . This room is panelled .with dark oak, with a background of rose-coloured paper, and has a rose-coloured and green frieze, .which formed an effective foil for .the 'azaleas-and groat vase's .filled'with arum lilies. Tho drawing-room was filled witn yellow narcissi and arum lilies, and tho rose"colourcd, smoking-room was done entirely .with white flowers and green leaves. ' A string band stationed on. the • stairs PJW™ selections from "Miss Hook of Holland ; all through the afternoon,' and in the drawingroom several songs and recitations .wero given, and-in-another fortunes' wero read. Mrs. Wylio received in a frock of grey silk eolienne, trimmed with white laco and touches of black velvet. 'Miss Wylic's pretty directoire frock was of pale blue, cloth, trimmed 1 on bodico and- sleeves with ■ cut embroidery of vieux rose satin, and-with a directoire .sash of the samo shade. A'Harbour Picnic. , ' ■', .A delightful water picnic was given yesterday morning by Mrs. W. Kennedy .for Miss-Mills,- from Dunedin, who is at present, the guest of Miss'Coatcs. .The Natono left the. wharf at about ten o'clock with fifty guests, on board, and, after going round to Karaka Bay, where morning tea was served, the party was taken for a oruiso round Somo3 Island and back to town. It was/a charming 'morning for such an ' excursion,' and tho: outing was thoroughly enjoyed. Among others present were: Mrs. Webster, Mrs. I. Young, the Misses Turner, Mrs. and .Miss -Head; Mrs., and Mis 3 Fulton, the- Misses Beauchamp, Miles, Nelson, - Tolhurst, Nesbit, Bell (2), Scobie,' M'Kenzie, Stafford, r.nd Mr.'and Mrs.: Percy M'Quade. ( - At Home In Sydney Strcot. afternoon,-about two. hundred guests' were present at on "at homo"^ given by Mrs.' Sprott in the Sydney Street Schoolroom. : During the afternoon Mrs. vvallis gave an exceedingly interesting on tho aims and the successes ■ of the PanAnglican Congress, pointing ' out that : the greatest" work of">tho-congress was tho in-, spiring of workers .throughout the world .to carry on .what had already been' begun by tho Anglican Church in many different fields. Tho speech was. listened to with great attention and appreciation. '
Obituary. ' On Monday last, tho remains of tho lato Mrs. Bradey,. of Pahautanui, were escorted ■from her town residence in'Mulgravo Street, out to Pahautanui, where the interment took place. ■ Tho funeral 'was very largely attended.: Deceased, whoso husband iai one of the best-known settlers in tho district, andfor some, timo'a,.member, .of the Wellington Education Board/was Very highly respected.
