A SHIPMENT FROM AUSTRALIA. In view of the recent advocacy of developing a chilled meat trado from Now Zealand, it is interesting to note that arrangements liavo been, made for a trial shipment of chilled beef from Australia.. Mr. Piatt,'the engineer of the Improved Chilling Company,, has go;io to the Kcdbank Works, Quesnsland, :to lit Hp tlio Accessary machinery for applying" the Linley process to a shipment of beef which will bo made from those works in the s.s. Marathon. Tlio necessary plant v/as . placed on thij vessel in England. The Marathon, was to leavo Brisbane on August 30, aiid be in London about ' November 1. • 'Hie/ quantity ' of' beef to. be isliipped under the chilled process is 1500 quarters.
