Despite the rain on Saturday afternoon, the trial match between Jhe senior, and ' junior representatives,; in view "of the- Aiiokltmd Shield matoh noxt Saturday, was- played; .The ground was very slippery. .' - ■'< ; .; .: From the "bully-off" the Juniors, attacked Vigorously, and a couple of corners were, conceded. Evon play ensued, after whioh Smythe, Elliott; and Smith took some hot shots, some of which just missed, whilo others were beautifully saved by Arnold,in goal,, Lynch (Junior) right wing) carried the ball well up,his wing, where he was smartly/pulled .up .by Harty. After ten minutes' play,; Organ passed to Davies, who hit in, the ball, glancing off Arnold's pads. .1-0.; l Smythe,-Davks, i Elliott, and Smith instituted some; : pretty, passing, Treadwell intercepting, and saving well, The second Senior goal was notched., through a. Door shot by Davies, the goalkeeper being deceived by the mud round the goal. ; Through the agoncy of Davics, who scored from. the rebound, from a swift shot ;'of. Elliott's, the figures presently read 3—o, and this was soon converted, to 4—o. A spell of evenness fol-' lowed, at the end of which,': Treadw.cll averted !in attack, and- hit well up.
