HOUSE BURNT IN KENT TERRACE. On Saturday night, about ton minutes to eight, -ai.firo was discovered in a ten-roomed two-story residence—No. 43 Kent Terraceoccupied by Mr.. E. H. Oliver, and owned by Dr., Young. The fire had a good hold when the alarm was given, and tho house was practically destroyed. Mrs. Oliver had her attention drawn to a smell of burning about 6.30 p.m.', but could discover nothing. The value qf tho insurances amount to £1600 on the- building and £500 r on' tho furniture; ,
OUTBREAK IN ABEL SMITH STREET. ' ' Yesterday afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock, the brigade,was summoned to Noi 69, Abel Smith Street; a' nine-roamed two-story boardinghouse owned, by Mr. S. Gilmor, a-nd .tenanted by. Mrs. A. Watson. Tho fire, wJiich originated in a: room occupied by , two" of • the boarders, did serious damage before it was got under, as it .had a good hold beforo'it was discovered. A portion of the house was gutted. Tho adjoining house, occupied by Mrs. May Sundorlnnd, was also sot alight, tho pld. shingles under tho iron rcof becoming ignited by the heat.
