It is expected that the 125 visiting players wilt carry away an ofthe climate of ; Napier. at its best, . To-day 'a■ change of venuo was effected,' and the,:fourth days play opened on tho Napier Recreation Ground; the preceding games having been played, on Cornwall Park,' Hastings, • . •The opening game'was between Wntrarapa A/and Hawkes.Bay 8.. The teams were evenly matched, ;.but ,;in the v first :'spell' the visitors .were within an ace of scoring,, Miss Thompson making a sensational run, and missing the goal by inches, r Wairarapa continued to force - the;- play, '/'.lrat'-.-'.lhe' .defence was too sound. Hawkg'a Bay.retaliated, but some good chances 1 of; scoring were lost (by, bad shooting in the 6econd spell,; Good/defensive work was done for.; Hawke's Bay by Misses Humphries, War'renVand'Bissell. Play 'gradually liecame very fast, and Wairarapa almost secured a goal in the Hawke's >Baycircle, while the homo team missed two easy shots. The game ended in a draw, neither side scoring.
