During the course of further remarks on the subject,': he declared that a carriage .suitable, for the Governor always tost .from ;£l5O to £200 more than'an ordinary first-class, carriage (as used on tho Main Trunk line)', which was .'.worth.-from. £1500 to £1550., The reason why a new- Governor's car had to be built was that, owing to the opening of .the Main Trunk line, sleeping accommodation in tho vehicle was necessary, and this the old carriage did not contain. Those who had criticised' the cost of the new vehicle had quite omitted to put the value of the old car (which .was being converted into an ordinary first-class carriage)' to the credit, of the ordinary rolling stock. ■ ° v , Found—the.
