CRIPPS DEFEATS GRIFFIN. (By Telegraph—Prcßß Association ) Christchurch, August 24 A. Cripps, of Sydne>, defeated J. N. Griffin, of Now Zealand, for the "light-heavy-wcight" boxing championship of Australasia to-night Cripps won on points after 15 rounds of three minutes each In the feather-weight Canterbury championship, T Gundry beat B. Wilson, and C S ewart beat D. Nelligan in a six-round bout. [A private message to The Dominion states that Cripps ,won on points all the Way. He was in better form than., Griffin. Both, however, lasted pretty well.] TOMMY BURNS. Auckland, August 24. Tommy Burns gavo an exhibition of boxing at His Majesty's Theatre to-night, engaging in a three-rouud spar with Tom Lees, ox-charapion heavy-weight of Australia, who is now resident of Auckland Burns has cancelled other New Zealand 'engagements, and returns by Monday's boat to Sydney /
