Many of tho cheeso factories and branch creameries of butter factorial throughout tho Hawora district that havo been <;lo&«I during tho winter months aro again in operation (says tho "Star"),'and there will bo very few that havo not reopened by Sep-tember-1. Cows appear to bo "aiming, in" very rapidly at this early (icriod of another dairying season, and.tho output from tho factories for the first few months, should easily constitute a record. The Mcllb Dairy Company has decided to support tho National Dairy Association in sending a representative Home, vico Mr. Maokio, resigned. Tho'West Coast Refrigerating Works at .Patea havo been overhauled in readiness for the season about to commence. At present only about 100 boxes of butter nor week ar6 being received at tho works; cheeso has not.yet started to come. in. In tho flush of tho season it is expected that cheese will average over 1100 cases, and. butter 500 boxes per day. " i '>, ~ — SCHOOL CARDENS. Hawora District High School pupils this week received their first gardening lesson, 'which was_ on the caro of tools! Tho Board of Education recently forwarde'd a consignment of miscellaneous tools and the pupils were set to work oiling them as a precaution against rust. The timber has been ordered for fencing the required area for tho garden, and- digging will immediately follow. ' ;
