FIRE IN THE CITY.
SHOP AND BOARDINGHOUSE'PUTTED. WOMAN INJURED BY JUMPING FROM " . A WINDOW. . i A fire broke out shortly befoie two o'clock ' this morning in a bootmaker's shop and boardinghouse, occupied Iby Mr. A. Prosser, at the corner of Lome Street and Cambridge Terrace. Tho outbreak started at the back portion of this premises, and had a Grin hold when tho fire brigade arrived, and tho place gutted before the flames were f suppressed." _ v ' ' . The fire spread to the adjoining premises, ocoupied by Mr. A. R. Barnes, signwriter and paperhanger. The back portion of the premises was badly damaged by ire, and the corttan.ts of the shop by water. A laundry, occupied by Mrs, Biansonj also caught lire, and was considerably damaged befoie the flames were 'put out Tho shop was flooded. ■ • ' The occupants of Mr. Prosser's establishment had a narrow escape, ono of them, Mrs. Mihoz, in jumping from 1 a window, - some tivelyo feet from the ground, broke hor leg.' 1 Mr. Pressor had an insuranoe,-of £180 on his furniture, but / the other insurance ocrald not be ascertained bofore we went to press.
