A CATASTROPHE IN CENTRAL JAPAN. GREAT , LOSS OF LIKE. AN EXTINCT VOLCAKO COLLAPSES. (By Telegraph.-I'reaa Aaßoctatlbn.-OoDjrrlElit.l Tohio, August 15. A great earthquake has occurred in Central Japan, tho tonns, of Nagoya, Kyoto, and Osaka being chiefly affected. - Thirty persons were killed, and eighty-two injured. THE CASUALTY FIGURES DOUBLED. (Rec: August 16, 10.30 p.m.) Tokio, August 16. Nagoya was badly damaged. The estimates of killed and injured are hourly incroasing,. doubling tlio original figures. Mount Miki, an extinct volcano, collapsed with a thunderous roar.
