The motion was moved by Mr. L. Slkt','eeco'nded by Mr. J. , Hogberi, Mr. J. Mason, seconded by Mr..C. H. Taylor, 05pcßiiid (he motion. Herdman, ii.y., v/liO' judged the debate, gave some useful liiuLs on debating, and mado tho following award for the purpose of the Union Prize, the speakers being placed-in .order, of merit:— llessrs; 11. M. Butcher, J. Hogbdn, L. Short, 11. H. Oram, and C. H. Taylor. Mr. J. Mason did:.not take part in the competition.
