Hie Board of Trustees of the, Wellington Benevolent Institution met yesterday, there being presents The chairman (Mri John Smith), and Messrs. H. Cook, J, Wakeham, A. W. Hogg,iM.P., D. Robertson, and. the Rev. \V. A. Evans. ' ... - The weekly. return of inmates showed that in the main /'home there were 84 male and 30 female inmates; of those in the intermediate ward last wees five had left, while three new cases had been admitted, tno total now being 13. A letter was received from tho secretary of tho Wellington Society of Painters' and Decorators, in which it was asked that if at any time painters applied to tho board for assistance the society might be informed .of the facts, in order that assistance might be extended to bona' fide out-of-work members of the union who were actually in want.
