Uph'am, of tho Midland Cricket Club, which is now disbanding, was presented last evening by his clubmates with a handsomo album containing his batting and bowling records, extending over twenty-fivo yoars of first-class cricket. Dr. Nowmau vice-president of the club, eulogised Mr. Upham as a good bat, as one of the fastest straight bmvlers ho knew, and as an allround cricketer. Mr. Upham had' stayed with,the Midland Club until ho saw it die. The district cricket scheme, which lmd been adopted this season, would undoubtedly benefit local cricket, but where was the Midlandor who desired to' seo his club disestablished P The club also presented - Mr. Upham with a silver-mounted hand-glass. Mr. Upham, in thanking 1 his fellow-cricketcrs, spoke of the many pleasant associations he had had'as a member of the Midland Club, and expressed the hope that a cricketer would arise to beat his Tooor<L
