Potatoes. > Turnips. ; ' r ■ Queen .Pudding. . 1 *.■ QUEEN, PUDDING. ■•".•Four''eggs; haif-pint< of breadcrumbs, one pint of boiling "nnllc;. ioz. butter',, grated rind of one lemon,' sugar. «to'- tdste, ■ apricot; jam. Sweeten the milk/pour it boiling on . tlio breadcrumbs, add'the:lemon rind and'butter., Let it'cool, tho beaten yolks^of. tho eggs. .Butter a I>iedishv put in .the mixture. Bake in a slow .oven until, sot,; but .'not brown. Then spread over it a layer of apricot/jam. Beat the eggs to a stiff , froth.' 'Mix one' teaspoonful of sugar and a few drops of .essence of lemon with them. Pilo them on the pudding, sift , over a little sugar, and put it in a very moderate oven until set .or slightly.. coloured. Serve; either hot or oold. .', . FOR TO-MORROW. :Two pounds steak, one ox kidney, suet, treacle,, two eggs, carbonate of soda'.
