' :A-meeting iof, creditors in the bankrupt estate of William' Matthew Imrie, cutter, late of Carterton, Was held before the Deputy-Official Assignee (Mr. S. Tansley) yesterday. There were three creditors' representatives present. The bankrupt, who was represented by Mr. Lavery, stated that he had vacated a good position in India for reasons of health, and when lie'came to 'New'.Zealand' he was induced:,(m October, 1907), to purchase a tailoring business and .fittings for £20, in Cartorton. The follow-, ing-wint'er, trade fell away, the Juno turnover only, amounting to ,£2O,- as compared with the very much improved prospects shown by the turnover of July, ,1909—,£70.' Invsnito of. careful management, his affaire went-behind. An advance of £120 from his brother-in-law was disbursed to various creditors. '■ Bankrupt was 'compelled'to'file-his schedule of assets and. liabilities •. mainly by reason of' the pressure exerted by creditors, -and the difficulty experienced in finding a buyer for his .business. ,The: statement• of finances, showed that the amounts owing to unsecured creditors. totalled j>33B 12s. -Bdl this, three amounts-stock-in-trade, JE80; .book debts, furniture, ifillh-totalling .£155, appeared on the credit side The, estimated .deficiency in. the estate iwas set down at • .£lßl 12s. Bd. The largest creditors were:— J. Hodgson .(Auckland), £105' 135.. 4d.-; PhilpSi'Wilson, rind' Co. (Wellington), ,£3B; -Hooper ■ and ■ Harrison (Wellington), ,£46 Us. 9d.i Cox (Carterton), .'- . . ..,-.-. It was decided that'the stock-in-trade in hand be realised at auction, and that Mr. Lavery, 'bankrupt's solicitor, call in the book debts.
