ALLEGED SYSTEMATIC THIEVING.

TWO ARRESTS MADE. Recently it became known that ' certain articles were teing offered to various shopkeepers • at below cost price. After, keeping strict watch for several days, Sergeant Mathcson and Constable Taylor yoJtcrday interrogated an ' cxprcssffiim as to liow ho had come into possession of certain goods. As a result of his' replies he was arrested on a charge of thoft from certain chemical works. Only tome days ago he borrowed £1 1 fora the expressman, to whom he gave further articles. Tho accused will appear before tho Court to-moi'l'ow, when a remand will be asked foJ ponding further inquiry' and search.
