APPEAL TO CHRISTIAx\ SCIENTISTS. ! Mrs. D. 51. Gilbert, a rich.and prominent Christian Scientist, of.Brooklyn, has issued a call to all Christian Scientists to,help her in ,y.i attempt to reorganise and purify tho ohurch (writes-tho New York correspondent of the London "Standard"). Mrs. Gilbert writes:—" The . Christian Science Church.is without a spiritual leader in; the flosh.. Mrs. Eddy, is cither dead or helpless;. a mindless puppet in the hands of conscienceless men. I appeal for tlio purification of our church. I have studied at close range the fraud, trickery, and revolting mystery by which the Boston , organisation seeks to perpetuate the pernicious fiction of an unseen and unseeable leader. This profane mockery will continue indefinitely unless honest Christian Scientists combino to expose and exterminate tho fraud. The time has corae when Christian Science must purge .itself of dishonesty. Mary Baker now lives in history as ■ only a fetish,'and her name is all that remains, i The hour is at hand for tho reorganisation of our faith on tho'lines of honesty, unity, and purity." '.....-.
