In the bantams; Campbell beat Nelligan on points,: after, three hard-fought bouts. Wennand ,knooked /: out .Baldwin in ...the first rbita'd;; after' 85 seconds Jiard hitting. In the feather-weights, .the judge, at the.close of. three lwilts ■ between Xeckie. and Cairns; declared a draw, and then gave,; the verdict to the Otago man; after, a : hard-fought fourth bout. Porter got. a right'■'cross'- on' to -Finnerty in 'the' first bout,'arid; the, latter- was counted 'out, 'after boring 1 minute 40. seconds.: In the lightweights, Saunders,'succuiribed in.the.first round to' a left 6wing from .' Thomson. The crowd took the judge's decision.in the Smith-Newall oontest very, badly, hooting and' yelling, and losing sight of the fact, that the decision' 1 was obviously given for skill iri boxing. A. fourth bout was fought between Ross and O'Connor, the decision' going to the former on points.
