Auckland, July 17 An interesting ply-grog case is understood is to pending in Auckland A' local chemist, it is stated, lately sold a bottle of a' w&ll-known quinine wine preparation to a person who asked for this particular tome, and "the sequel is jikely to be a prosecution for selling liquor without a license The wine in question is said to contain a considerable percentage of alcohol, and, as many other preparations which enjoy a wide popu hnty are 'aid to also include more or less alcohol, tho'caso (which will be regarded as a test one) will ho ono of great interest, especially from the chomist's point of view An important point on which the case may largely depend, is whether the wine purchased was, oi was required for medicinal purposes It will probably bo contended by the pioseoution that.it was not needed as a medicine,, but this view, no doubt, will be combated by the defendant, who has retained counsel to.contest tho case.
