Marryatt (acting-secretary and treasurer), 'E. L. . Chaffey, C. ■E, Bridge, H. S. Robinson, J, T. Thompson, and W. H. 'The Auckland A-A, -Aesociation..promised £15, .the Canterbury; Centre an indefinite-amount, and •Dr, Guy. Ho6kins forwarded M 2s„ The Otagp Centre'promisediil§,nndstated that G. P.'Keddell would.like,to be nominated; for :tho' high jump.in. addition,to the broad jump and-hur-dles. A'committee of the Duneuin A.A.C. and the Caversham, Harriers had also been set. up to gather funds to send G. M'Knight with the team.;,' '- : w '■ '.'■' : '' ,',' : '~'- ' ■/' ■.'■ , The,committee\decided to';nominate Keddell .as desired.. The chairman stated that, as. a ;Wellington delegate, ho,was authorised, to say that the Wellington Centre' 1 would, contribute: its share. . '■;'.- ..-■. .-;■ : . .".-../.',■', : Mf- U"E,V-Bridge was unanimously .ap-j pointed manager'for the team, In regard to the. oross'-c6 : untry champion-ship-it was intimated. that the committee's offer to hold the event in tha South Canter, bury district had been accepted, The oontrol of the race would be carried out by the South Canterbury' Harriers under the conditions as set" out by ,the council. The date was fiied for September 9, as" the date originally suggested, .September 2, would conflict with other fixtures.- '■' The'. application of the Ashburton Harriers jClub, made through the Canterbury Centre, for "affiliation was granted. ' -The secretary 7 said that an amount of ;816 9s.'sd:" had been received from, the Christchurch Council-through Dr. Newnian. The cash balance in. hand was stated to be ' 2s. 10d:: '■:;;: ."--.';.-' ■ ' ■■ ■ : v' '..Mr'./Marryatt tendered his resignation of the ppst of acting-secretary and treasurer, as the council was now in a position to appoint a permanent seoretary.** '. His resignation was accepted;, -with; regret, members of tho' oonnoil making:eulogistic references to the work done by Mr. Marryatt during his term of oftice. , ■ . In acknowledging these expressions of thanks, Mr.' said that his work had been made easier-for him-by- the. assistance-given by- members.; Ho wished ; also to .thank : the secretaries of the various centres for the help, they had/given' him., Mr. W. -G.
