In the meantime farmers are holding firmlyi and no offers are being made. ■ Later information' from. London records a fall of Is. por quarter in oats, and this will put , a check upon the export trade, as there is no margin of profit at present between local and London values. As in-the case of wheat, there are no offerings. '>■■. v :' Potatoes, are dull of .sale in the absence of orders for coastal shipment. • Shipments .from the Bluff have , filled up the Auckland market, and supplies are offering at a lower rate in the south than they can bo quoted here. , A Danish firm writes that their country is producing year by year, > increasing : quantities of cocksfoot, the quality of which is superior to New Zealand seed, and therefore niuch preferred.
