The Survoyors' Association severely condemns tho tax on undeveloped land, which, they assort, will foice lnnd upon the market before- it is wanted. ' , The Liverpool Law Society has published a memorandum showing the enormous cost of making valuations. Sir Charlea Dilke, M.P., in a speech at a miners' demonstration at Dean, in Gloucestershire, stated that tho duty on ungotten minerals'«ill bo dropped. Ho objected to the substitution of a tnx on royalties, and preferred that mines should bo taxed as undeveloped land. UNEARNED INCREMENT DUTY. EXEMPTION OF SMALL PROPERTIES. (Rec, July 13, 10.35 p.m.) London, July .13. In the debate on the Finance Bill in tho House of .Commons, tho Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Lloyd-George, promised to exempt small properties from tho operation of the duty of 20 per cent, on the unearned increment of land.
