I At a meeting of the Hastings Fire Police '■held last night, Captain Halso presiding, it was decided to play a euchre tournament with tho Ntpisr Fire Police on July 22, and a committee was appointed to carry out tho details. Lieutenant Robins was granted a transfer to tho Masterton Salvage Corps. A sub-commibtco of tho brigade mot a subcommittee from the Firo Police last night. Superintendent Brausoh was in tho chair. It was decided 1 that tho Firo Polico and Fire Brigado carry out all arrangements for a conference, which will be held at Hastings on February 14,1910, Messrs. J. Bamforth and L. Andorson wore appointed joint secretaries for the conference. It was resolved to write to tho Borough Council, Mayor, and leading citizons.for financial assistance. No traces have yet been found of the missing man supposed to be drowned in Tukituki River on Sunday week. Tho amount collected for the town clock fund to da£o in actual cash is £192 18s. Bd.
