don tinder Mr. Charles; Santley, and is in Wellington to continue her studios under Mr. Spencer Lorraine, to whom she was re-commended--by Mr. Santley. • It is to be hoped that Mrs. Mead will be induced to appear in public in Wellington. This would not seem, a difficult matter to arrange, but for the .'.fact; that, .hitherto, /BhC' ; has. contented herself- with. study, having no: very, decided ambition to appear on-the oonccrt platform. She-attributes much of her development to tho tuition: of Mr. 'Lorrairib,' having studied under his supervision in the south ever since ho arrived in the colony. . :
