r > Sir,—Tlioro is much talk about funds for the workless just now If vou will give ino a little space, I 'will montion a fow casci of gross waste of money by|tho Government that I know of —money that would bo of T priceless worth just now to the unfortunates in distress Recontly there has been built an extravagant Ministerial radway car, for the Promier to ; flash around in, fitted up expensively, costing £3000. Another, on'the sanio lines, for the Goiornor, costing £3000 Ordinary first-class carnages 4 were not good enough The Prune Minister and members of his family havo now gone to England— ' costing, at tho least, £2000 Tho Premier has taken with hiin tho Solicitor-General, costing about £1000 Also joined the already heavily-Blaffod Premier's staft, Detective Gasbols, costing about £1000. An extra secretary was taken by tho Premier as far as i Adelaide, costing about £100 These are a few of tho cases I know of Now, 1 would like to hnd out how many there aro I don't know of The table below speaks for itself.— Governors ear 3000 ' Premier's car 3000 Premier's trip , 2000 Solicitor-General's trip 1000 Detective Cassells's trip 1000 Extra secretary's trip 100 ' ; Total' ... .: _ 10,100 ' Nfrk, sir, I maintain all the above ex- ' t pondituro was totally unnecessary Moro than that, I look upon it as a wicked, wilful ' waste of our money, which would havo been so useful to relievo tho wOTkless now Ton thousand one hundred pounds of the people's money squandered to pleaso' a "showy" Premier. To the people of this country I would 4 imprtss upon them their duty at tho ballot box in three years' timo. Lot not this tjmo of shocking waste on tho one side, and unemployment and_ misery on the other, bo forgotten. Vote this Government right out, and ' let thorn take with them as a legacy their * I "dumb dogs," who voted tho closing of ParLament, in the midst of so much poverty. »rl am, oto., s V • ' ONE OP THE PEOPLE.
