Wβ understand, says {ho " Standard," that ' Lord, Kitchener will include a. visit to Ausj tralia in tho programme of tho extensive tour j which ho is to tako on leaving India. He will most probably go to tho,Commonwealth direct • from the , Japanese Imperial manoeuvres in November. The tour will therefore be as fol- • lows: Ceylon, North China, Japan, 'Australia, and Canada. So far no official work has been given to , Lord Kitchener during his-tour in tho Over- . sea States, but it is understood that the ad--1 vice of his lordship after first-hand acquaintance with the several military problems' and j organisations within the Empire will be sought on his arrival in England early next year. • Lord Kitchener, as a military student, is peri sonally anxious" to review the whole of the Empire's military problem in the light of the latest developments and ideus. Lord Kitchener leaves India about September 10, on which day his successor in the Indian command, General Sir O'lloore Crea'"h, reaohes Bombay.
