The erection of the new abattoirs at Nfjshauranga k Mating oomplotion, and another i six -weeks is expected to eeo the end of tl» present contract, bat it will probably be two . months or a little more before tho abattoir* will bo able to bo pronounced in working order. The yards have boon completed, ana th« main building is roofed in, and the concrete floor practically completed, whilst tho ooment dado 'round the walls is also finished. The hot ' water eorvioo is being put«in, and tho large ° storage' tank and connecting pipe are nearly ready. Levelling work is prooccding on tho ground' surrounding the building,; and the' do< tached- oflioes and men's roome ■: are finished, \rith the exception of the internal plastering and fittings. Tenders have been ,eaUed'*for' • tho hoisting gear, and the hanging raile for vthe beef and mutton rooms will ,'be the noxt ' move. Arrangcmonte are;being;made to cany the sower down tho main road, and for the lay* ing on of wator from th« Wainui main.
